Little Folks Learning Center

We have been around for more than 10 years in the child care business, but are only now getting licensed again. We offer lots of love to the children we service.

Our Program Includes:

We conduct a program based on modern educational techniques that are considered to be appropriate for young children. We will help all children with pre-reading and writing skills. They learn these skills through their play, art, music, language, and other activities planned throughout the day.  We also have a library of age appropriate computer games to build reading and math skills that we will use to teach your child.

Our Business

We offer a program with learning activities that are age appropriate. 

We teach life skills to prepare for kindergarten and beyond. 

Reading is important and we teach phonics along with the alphabet.

There are lots of hands on activities like painting, playdough, shaving cream, and bubbles.

Kids like getting messy while learning.

We use positive methods of discipline.

Our director is trained in the Boys Town Model for the Care and Treatment of Troubled Children in Therepeutic Foster Homes.

By teaching positive learning skills and behavior--children can grow up with the skills to foster healthy lifestyles for the future. 

Children are never punished for being children.  They are taught safety rules to keep from getting hurt.  Then, according to their age, they learn how to be kind, how to take turns, how to share and and how to help others.  So many children today lack direction we hope to create a learning environment that will set the stage for a bright future for all.

Who We Are

Terri Diggs is the owner and director of the program.  I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education but currently do not hold Teaching Certification. I am the mother of 4 grown children and 4 grandchildren. I have been licensed as a childcare provider in Denver, CO and in Cheyenne, WY.  I home schooled my 4 children for 4 years before going back to school to earn my Degree in Elementary Education.  I had 2 children at home with a mid-wife present and the other two were born in the hospital with a mid-wife present.  I have a natural philosophy of child rearing and kids love me--they usually do not want to go home once they have had the opportunity to play at my facility. I have also been licensed for Thereputic Foster Care for the P.E.A.K. Wellness Center, taking care of 3 different children.  I worked at Stride Learning Center as a bus aide and substitute teacher.  I currently work for the Attention Homes while directing the Little Folks Learning Center Facility on my off hours.

Melissa Favreau is one of the children Terri had at home. She is the mother of 2 beautiful girls ages 6 and 2. She has experience helping Terri with the daycare children that have been almost always present in her growing up and teen years. She also experienced having foster siblings to deal with.  She presently works at Home Depot and loves painting and doing interior decorating in the home she shares with her husband and 2 daughters. She is very good with teaching children social skills needed to succeed in school. She is following in her mother and sister's footsteps by becoming a childcare provider.

(Her sister, Felicia, is a Licensed Childcare Provider in Corpus Christi, TX and also did licensed childcare in Keflavich, Iceland).
